Reed McNeil Izatt (1926-) is a chemist. He has received numerous awards for mentoring, research, and discovery. He was also a founder of IBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. Reed McNeil Izatt was born in Logan, Utah, on October 10, 1926, the son of Alexander Spowart Izatt and Marian McNeil. Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program.
